AN ERROR ANALYSIS IN WRITING THESIS ABSTRACT OF ENGLISH DEPARTMENT

چکیده

The goal of this study was to identify the different kinds errors that were made by English Education Department students at KH. A. Wahab Hasbullah University Jombang when they writing their thesis abstracts. It also sought understand why these could happen. This concentrated on abstracts written education department undergrads. employed a descriptive qualitative methodology. Thirty undergraduate abstract texts released in 2022 served as research's source data. Collection, identification, description, explanation, and evaluation steps error analysis process. method data developed based Corder's work, which cited (Nurdin & Sri Hartati, 2019). According results, undergrad students' mistakes included adding words, using wrong terms, capitalizing, omitting spelling, punctuating, tenses, misusing word forms. These can be variety ways depending kind, result from carelessness, inadequate grasp grammar vocabulary, inter- intra-lingual interference.
